Why do we do an invocation at the football games but not the basketball games? Don't we also do them for baseball?

My wife asked about this today and I didn't have an answer. Any help is appreciated.

I guess the school figures we need them more for our football team.

Higher probability of injury, at least serious injury, in football than basketball or baseball would be my guess. That and more people in the stands.
