USC golf team eighth at Hayt Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The South Carolina men’s golf team holds eighth place through the first two rounds of the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Gamecocks are 11 strokes behind Alabama, which leads the 15-team field by two strokes over host North Florida. Senior Mark Anderson leads South Carolina in a tie for third place individually as he sits at 1-under after shooting 71 on the par-72 course on Monday.
The teams close out the tournament today, with the Gamecocks teeing off among the first groups at 8 a.m.
