ANOTHER BAMA PLAYER BUSTED
Alabama safety Rashad Johnson was arrested Saturday and charged with disorderly conduct, becoming the eighth Alabama player charged with a crime since last summer.
The Johnson arrest, which took place at 2:55 a.m. Saturday after he scuffled with Tuscaloosa police and security at a local bar, is particularly embarrassing for the Crimson Tide because he's an All-SEC player, a captain and a team leader.
Coach Nick Saban, through a team spokesman, declined to comment.
The bar where Johnson was arrested, The Legacy, is the same place where three other Alabama players were arrested last year, the Huntsville Times reports. In that incident, Roy Upchurch and Brandon Fanney ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, while Brandon Deaderick was granted youthful offender status, meaning his record is sealed from the public.
According to police, Johnson pushed a security officer who was escorting someone from The Legacy to the ground early Saturday morning. Police then arrested Johnson after a brief struggle that caused one officer to suffer a minor abrasion to his knee that did not require medical attention, the report said.
