Personally, I believe John Adams has hit every point perfectly and I think his article is a great one. Vol Fans in Knoxville are calling for Adams' job in the paper in response to this article. What do you all think???

wow
Bottom line: UT has surpassed Miami as the poster team for bad behavior in college football. It’s the college equivalent of the Cincinnati Bengals.
And when some of the bad Vols leave, they move on to bigger and badder things, carrying their UT affiliation right along with them.
In the last 10 years, two former prominent UT football players have killed people. How sobering is that?
Dwayne Goodrich, who starred in UT’s national championship game victory over Florida State, is in prison for criminally negligent homicide after running over two people on a Dallas freeway in 2003. Police estimated his car was going 110 miles per hour when he struck and killed two motorists who were trying to rescue a man from a burning car.
Leonard Little, another former UT player, capped off a drunken birthday bash in 1998 by crashing into and killing another motorist. He served only 90 days in jail.
Former UT players don’t have to kill anyone to make national headlines.
Jamal Lewis, an NFL star and former UT running back, served time in federal prison for his involvement in a drug deal. Travis Henry, another former UT and current NFL running back, has distinguished himself by fathering nine children by nine different women. Former UT player Albert Haynesworth was the talk of the NFL in 2006 when he stomped on a Dallas player’s face during a game.
You can’t blame Fulmer for the crimes committed by his players and former players. But he is responsible for disciplining players while they’re on his team.
And he has failed miserably at that.

I'm glad somebody had the balls to say what Adams has said. And I support him. Fulmer needs to go.

Sounds like the Ron Morris of Tennesse, but with more substancial numbers to back up his bold writting.

Moron right anything substantial, now that there is funny I don't care who you are. Knowing knox county I can see the line at the paper calling for this guys head. Up there if you don't bleed orange then you must just be visiting.

This guy is actually a damn good writer and I love him but unfortunately, if you don't see eye to eye with all that is orange up here, then you are not welcome, at least that is, according to our very uneducated fanbase that lives in the Knoxville Area.

I don't think you can put the blame on Fulmer here. It is the whole collective coaching staff that is at fault. Obiviously character is not a concern at Tennessee. Sad part about it, you don't see many teams winning a lot of games that don't have players that get in trouble a lot...Well, except for good ole Carolina!

IMHO, this crap happens at all colleges, just some schools sweep things under the carpet better than others. I don't see how bringing up what players do once they leave a school has anything to do with the school...are people calling for Frank Beamer because of what the two Vick boys have done since leaving? There are stories like this from a lot of schools...however, one thing not mentioned is that Tennessee has put a crap ton of people into the NFL...to be famous and get in trouble means that UT did a good job with what they were doing to get you into a position to be famous...you know?

I agree with everything that Mr. Adams said. I've been saying the same thing for years. In a way I like having FAT PHil there for this reason. There are a lot more former UT players with problems that Mr. Adams didn't comment on. Fulmer can say what he want, but his players are not being treated equal. LaMarcus Coker was finally kicked off the team for failing his 5th or 6th drug test. To me that is almost as equal to Colquitt's 5th alcohol related offence. They had all those problems in 2005, then most of those problems went away when he hired David Cutcliff. As soon as Cutcliff left all the problems started back up.

http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/10666687/1. here is another article on CBSsportsline basicly about the same thing. This article actually says that the NCAA needs to crack down on coaches like Phil Fulmer and programs like UT. I will have to agree with this article.

Nevermind...what the hell do I care what Fulmer does...however, SC does not have the best history here lately with athletes getting in trouble yet no one will blame our coaching staff...

I kind of agree with both, but there is no doubt that Fulmer could do a much better job of disciplining the bad seeds.

I think Fulmer was in error by responding to the column. All he will do is draw further scrutiny down the road whenever another incident, like those mentioned in the article, happens. In essence, I think this is the beginning of the end for Coach Fulmer.
