or those who are able to pick up an issue at some point... there is a great article about "Abusive Fans" in college bball in this week's issue.

I know us Clemson/Carolina fans bicker with one another, but we are NOTHING compared to what I read about. Theres a player who had to cancel his cell service after receiving death threats through voicemail, throwing things at player's families at away games, and the Illinois chant of "**** You Gordon!" when Indiana came to town.

I know some groups like the Crazies up at Duke keep it respectful and rather witty, but others just embarass fans across the nation with their actions. But anyway, if you get a chance to pick up an issue, do it. At the very least read that one article... it puts things in perspective.

Death threats are obviously out of line. But, I think it's HILARIOUS when someone gets a hold of an opposing player's phone number and posts it online. It's cleverly devious, IMO

On a sidenote, yes, the Cameron Crazies are very clever. But, they too can be downright crule sometimes.

But, anyway. I got my SI in the mail today, but I haven't even skimmed through it yet. I'll have to do that, though. :thumbsup:

my favorite was when somebody was visiting who had recently gotten arrested. while at the charity stripe, the students behind the basket all stood, used their fingers as a gun, and shouted "FREEZE! POLICE!" Apparently the guy's teammates were cracking up.

I read it. Some of that stuff is horrible. Throwing things at visiting players' parents. At the FSU/Duke game a week or so ago, Paulus was at the free throw line, and you could clearly hear the fans yelling "F*** you Paulus!" Duke keeps it PG-13, and when they get out of hand, I've seen Coach K get on the PA and tell them to chill. Illinois' fans are GARBAGE!

like tonight at the Arizona/USC game. under a minute left, some student throws something and hits a USC player. their coach and the ref point to the crowd. Then the Ariz coach got on the PA and scolded the students, and apologized to the USC coach and his team for that. classy move by the coach there.
