COLUMBIA -- While he stayed just off Bourbon Street, Blake Brettschneider didn't have time for the jazz and food that New Orleans is known for in his first trip to the Bayou.

This was all business for the University of South Carolina soccer player. The freshman striker from Lilburn, Ga., was one of 23 players invited to the United States under 20 men's national team domestic camp.

"There's not much else to do on a trip like that," he said. "You've got to stay mentally prepared and mentally focused. It's a big deal. It's very cutthroat. If you don't do well, you're probably not coming back." Nice to see a college athlete with an attitude like that.
