Ace Melissa Hendon got the two wins allowing only 1 earned run. I got to watch game one saturday. There isn't much protection from the wind at Beckham Field, so I froze my tail off, but it was a great comeback win reminiscent of last year's regional wins. USC had trouble with the wind too, as a couple of wind-blown pop flies that dropped helped Arkansas score their 4 runs. Going into the bottom of the 7th Arkansas led 4-3. Leadoff hitter Ashton Payne, off to a great start with a .395 batting average, drove one into the gap for a triple. Laura Mendes followed with a double down the leftfield line to tie the score. Freshman Jill Semento, the team's leading hitter at .429, walked on four straight pitches. Jessica Josker then grounded a single up the middle to score Mendes with the winning run.
Redshirt freshman Krystal Robinson took the 3-2 loss in game 2, but Hendon came back to shut out Arkansas 4-0 sunday. The team plays at Georgia next weekend.
