Haha people aways complain bout having to pay. The money makes the team better its the only other way to contribute unless you can suit up for the games.

Vanderbilt has always had their games online for free. We brought this up in the thread about how it was good that our AD makes us pay for the games. It is crazy that they make us pay to watch our own team play.

Vandy is a private school ... so they have more money in the school to do things like this ... Vandy has the money that's for sure

Doing just a straight video/sound feed without any annoucers costs very little these days. You could rent a quad core server with 100mbit Tier 3 Internap bandwidth for approx: $260 a month which, could easily handle the few 1000 users that would actually watch the feed. All you would need to do then is setup the webcam and a laptop and stream the video to the server. It would be a little delayed but would work fine. Hell the university probably has plenty of bandwidth to run it themselves.

Regardless even a 3rd party hosting setup would cost about what a Full Scholly donor gives in just membership fees for the 5 months baseball season lasts if we make it to Omaha.

Me too. It came up and everything but when I started watching it the sound and video would like freeze up for a couple seconds (a long time) and I couldn't take it so I closed it.

It's part of the CSTV network still but Vandy doesn't charge your access like we do.

pure chance, with a little luck.

our coverage was actually about 1 second ahead of the video, but it surely beat that dousche doing the Vandy plap by play!

The money Carolina gets from the pay audio/video goes into a fund for scholarships for former athletes who did not finish their degrees in the maximum 6 years. An example of those who benefit is George Gause. He didn't finish in 6 as he tried pro ball, but then came back and got his degree in 12/07.

Maybe Vandy subsidizes that type of program through their tuition and fees. I'm sure folks would complain louder if we bumped tuition to $30K/year, but hey, at least they get fee access.

I'm sorry but I think thats a load of crap. If they couldn't finish a 4-year degree in 6 years while the GCC was already paying that scholarship then though.

16-7 Cocks. If you want to appreciate our 107.5 broadcasters, listen to the pair on the free web site of Vandy. Their many critical comments of our club get on ones nerves after awhile. Even worse, they get confused as to which player did what even for the home team.

Even worse, they get confused as to which player did what even for the home team.Very good point - "Harvey/Harry/Whatever Lail" - an outside USC pitch is 'badly thrown' while the same or worse from VU is 'just a bit outside - very hittable'.

I hear Tom and Mike compliment the other team - and criticize our own play and calls that go our way - shows some class on USC broadcasting - and a bit of homerism on VU's.
