Woo hoo!!! Go Boiling Springs!!! We've won so many region titles over the years but have never been able to get a state title. We won the region twice when I was there only to be put out late in the playoffs. They didnt even have us ranked preseason. We beat Mauldin and Dorman to win our region last year and returned almost everyone but they still ranked both of them ahead of us. THAT doesnt make any sense. We had the last laugh this year though. This was also Boiling Springs first championship in a male team sport.

Fans from Boiling Springs had an interesting journey home after Wednesday's win at Conway that handed the Bulldogs their first Class AAAA state baseball championship.
An activity bus carrying fans from the school was immobilized during the game after suffering damage that, according to varying reports, may or may not have been vandalism. The damage wasn't repairable after the game, so Conway officials loaned Boiling Springs a bus to drive home.
The journey got even more interesting from there. The loaner broke down around Newberry, stranding the supporters about an hour from home.
"It just made things more memorable," Boiling Springs athletic director Jeff Snipes said. "Unfortunately incidents like that happen, but it turned out OK. Our kids got something that they can tell their kids about. They'll be telling their grandkids about their big adventure to Conway.
"It's a hard situation for you when somebody wins a state championship on your field, but [Conway athletic director] Chuck Jordan and [principal Porter Kennington] were first class about the whole situation. I can assure you the people of Boiling Springs know if there was any way they could have avoided it, they would have."
Conway police investigated the damage to the Boiling Springs bus, but could not find enough evidence to rule it as vandalism, police spokeswoman Catina Hipp said. Citing a lack of clues and suspects, police didn't even file a report in the case, she said.
A police report was filed in reference to a broken mirror on a vehicle in the Conway parking lot, but there were no suspects in that incident either, Hipp said. She said both cases are closed.
However, since the incident happened on its grounds, Conway paid for a mechanic to repair the bus.
"We feel like it's our responsibility," Kennington said.
"Had that incident not happened, I thought it was a good evening. When you're playing for a state championship, you have kids and adults that want to win. They are enthusiastic. That leads to stupid things. I'm not aware of any incidents that happened other than students jawing at each other and somebody throwing a plastic bottle into a crowd."

Conway High School's baseball team couldn't keep Boiling Springs High from reaching home Wednesday night. And a vandal - or vandals - who cut the brake line on a bus sometime during or after the Bulldogs' 5-1 victory in the 4A state championship couldn't keep the team's fans from getting home, either.

I do not know anyone affiliated with Conway High School but after hearing about this from all my baseball friends I now know (or have a clear idea) that Conway people are pieces of trash. I would be ashamed to go to that school. Kids do dumb things at every high school, but putting peoples' lives in danger? That's just messed up.
