Byrnes High is preparing to host its first national seven-on-seven passing tournament beginning next Thursday afternoon and running through Saturday the 12th. All of the competition takes place on the field at Beech Spring Middle School, which is located across the street from the high school.
The Rebels, who have taken part in such events in various parts of the country in recent summers, will play host to 20 schools.

And hopefully a "mythical national high school championship". It would be so AWESOME for my/our Mighty Rebels to end the season at No. 1. Already pre-season No. 3.

That ain't gonna happen. There is so much land behind the school, all they would have to do is just expand back. Their's small colleges that would love to have Byrnes' facilities. No way another high school is getting built. Greer and Riverside won't even combine their high schools. Sorry Rebel haters out there. This DYNASTY will endure for a while. Still got luv for ya though.

Makkkayyy....I don't think people really get into HS football THAT much.
Small Colleges would love to have Byrnes facilities? Heck, Then in our case we have WAY nicer facilites than most small colleges.

Don't get into HS football that much? Then why all the talk of recruits and the like and how many stars a kid has and all that stuff? Like CarolinaGirl82 said before, speak for yourself. I love my Rebels and Duncan and proud of how the program has evolved into a national power.

Between TD Club dues, Season Tickets, PSL's and other fund raisers, I spend almost as much on Byrnes football as Gamecock football. Don't tell me "nobody" gets into HS football.
Not trying to put down anybody else's program at all, but if you want to see what the excitement of big time HS football is all about, come to Nixon Field some Friday evening this fall.

LMAO....I guess, I can remember when they weren't all that swift. I mean don't get me wrong, last few years have been an incredible run, but to hear the people around here talk where I live they have been a life-long dynasty or something. They do have incredible facilities though that I will agree on.

80, I highly doubt that you spend as much on Byrnes Tickets as you do Gamecock Club Dues + Tickets.

Dude as much as I don't care for Byrnes, they have huge fundraising efforts. Not even mentioning the Nike backing, their Jumbotron is better than most small colleges. Bentley said he had a bigger budget at Byrnes than he does at PC. I think one thing that is great for them is that they implemented the system from rec on up, means a lot when a kid comes from middle school and basically knows the system. They have their Sh*ts together for sure.

Well I did say almost.....and hyperbole comes into play....but you get the idea!
Dorman has a fantastic stadium, but it seems the home side is seldom filled up. I used to broadcast Dorman football when they were at the old Martin stadium. Back then, it seemed, the place was packed and the enthusiasm was top notch. What happened when they moved out to 221?

I think one thing that is great for them is that they implemented the system from rec on up, means a lot when a kid comes from middle school and basically knows the system. That is definitely where the great playing system comes from. EVERY football team in District 5 runs Byrnes plays. Including the Little League teams. The Byrnes seniors this year have been running the same offense and defense for about 7 years now.
