"Marcus Lattimore…even his name sounds like that of a champion. 1500 years ago Marcus would have lead an elite infantry group of Roman Legionnaires into battle, they would have won every battle I imagine. This kid is amazing! he's got grades, talent, athleticism, and leadership. Marcus embodies Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness as evidenced by his ridiculous overall SPARQ Rating of 129.87; he blazed through the Shuttle Agility course in a mere 4.11 seconds. In the 40-Yard Dash Marcus made most everyone a little bit jealous as galloped to a 4.59 second run. It's rare that an athlete ever throws the Powerball over forty feet, but Marcus is a remarkable athlete and he threw the 6.6 pound medicine ball forty-three feet, absolutely ridiculous people! Finally, at six feet one inch and 206 pounds Marcus lifted his entire frame 37.3 inches into the lower atmosphere in the Vertical Jump test, really folks not many mammals can do such an extraordinary thing."
Nice write up on Lattimore. Man, I HOPE we get this kid.

I attended my first Byrnes game in 1960....the next 40 seasons had their ups and downs, but it seemed like we ended up on the short end of the stick more often than not.....so please pardon us while we enjoy riding this wave right now.....
.....as for Marcus, I think we have a pretty good shot at seeing him in the garnet and black....and I hope a few more in the years to come...divert that pipeline away from Pickens Co.

Yea Byrnes used to be one of the only teams Boiling Springs could beat in football when I was in high school. Noooot anymore.

Im not takin anything away from i think its great, i personally am tired of hearing about them because i coach football and our team gets very little publicity as well as many teams around the state and we work just as hard if not harder.

Maybe so, but you don't have to throw it up to me! Kinda like the afflicted family member....everybody knows it, but nobody says anything.
I'm doing all I can to try to stop it.....until all of Willy's pals graduate, we may have to put up with it, or exert extra effort in the recruiting process.

Im sorry but im gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Coach Shrock keeps these boys working 24/7.

I also was raised on Byrnes football, im only 20 but i have gone to almost every game for the past 17 years of my life. I have had to sit through the Gaffney, Spartanburg, Rock Hill, Northwestern, Dorman blow outs what seemed like every year. I even remember watching Phil Petty beat the Rebels to keep Byrnes out of the playoffs like 10 years ago.

So youre going to tell me how hard our kids work. I dont think so. Our kids put just as much effort into winning as byrnes does the problem is we have more than one high school and the talent is spread out. Im sorry to get defensive but you will never tell me our kids dont as hard as byrnes i dont care who their coach is or how many blowouts you have whitnessed.

I actually have to agree with ByrnesRooster. Those kids work harder than some college programs. I've seen them get on the practice field at 3:30 and not leave until 9 or 10. To be honest, it's crazy how hard they work. And the coach he's referring to is an ex-Army Ranger. He pushes pretty damn hard.

People are always going to hate on a team that they have to hear about all the time or one that is "too" successful. Everybody loves a little parody and to see the underdog triumph every now and then. Im a Bsprings guy and I love the fact that Byrnes is doing so awesome. I see why they get so much attention....5 states titles in 6 seasons. When you do that you get the attention. Attention isnt based off effort. Thats a fairytale world. We pay attention to championship teams, its just the way it is.

Good shot Barrydinho.
