WB Sound Sytem update

I don't know if it's going to be a quality sound system, but I do know that it will be huge. They are keeping the speakers in the alley between the East Upper and the North East Ramp. There are 20-25 cones. about 10 of them are 4-foot deep. The remaining cones are 6-foot deep. They are huge. They have also torn away the entire facing of the bottom part of the scoreboard where it used to say "University of South Carolina".

The speakers will more than likely be placed side by side, and they will cover the entire width of the scoreboard. They will then put stereo-covering back over that. If I'm right, the stereo-covering will say "University of South Carolina".

This looks like a system that the NFL teams use in their football stadiums, which have not just a lot of volume, but they have a lot of quality on all sound ranges.

Click on the link below, and look at the Texas scoreboard. That's more than likely the sound system that Carolina is getting. Also, look at the covering on the system.

It'd be pretty pointless in getting a new screen like that when they are going to have to tear it down in about 2 years anyway for the NEZ.

I'm pretty sure that's why they have just upgraded the scoreboard some and decided to stick with it until they build the NEZ. I'm sure we'll have a nice Jumbotron on top of it whenever we get it built.

From what I hear, Most Texas fans don't even like it. They say you can't see it because of the glare and that it is really ugly from the back.

I'm just looking for some quality updates. It is loud enough as is, but the quality is low. Yeah, I hope they wait until we fix the North Endzone before they do much with the screen. I hope they put two of them in once construction is done.

With it being Daktronics, I can tell you it's going to be good. Thats what most all NFL stadiums have. I don't think we'd be spending this much money, and considering it is this big, if it wasn't good quality!

Haven't seen AL or AU's. Georgia's is nice but it's always a day game and tough to see anyway. The thing about TN is it's 5 stories above you from the lower deck and they actually show the replay's, even if it's not good for them or there was a penalty.
Chapel Hills screen is even alright. Mainly because the stadium is the size of a living room.

Thank God!! i know some people could hear it fine last year.. but in the student section you coulnd't hear the sound AT ALL!!!! GOD it made me soo very very very very mad.

I could barely hear 2001 where i was sitting (around the 20 yard line or so).. and just thinking about it i am getting pissed off about not being able to hear the greatest into in CFB.
