Not a Greer fan but I don't have a problem with them winning their appeal. I don't think they did anything that bad. No need for them to be punished to severely.

From what I understand they weren't even going to be allowed to play their season. Which I think is ridiculous. No player should be robbed of his senior season, or any season for that matter.

Never heard that. They just would have lost a post season chance.

Either way...rules are rules. They got a gift.

Well they said 70 players were going to be ineligible, so who were they going to play with? The cheerleaders?

i would have expected them to restore elgibility and maintain the playoff probation.

thats what they did for North Augusta basketball

Here is the deal. Sosebee called in to the high school league asking if it was alright to do so and so. The high school league said no and Sose in turn asked them to take a look at Greenville online. I don't want to go into whether they broke the rule or not but i think the real losers here are Blythewood. How do you think they felt after being asked to sit at home after going undefeated for a similar reason.

Haha, nobody believed that would happen. Common knowledge said Greer would only be withheld from post season. Would have been fun to see the Cheerleaders play though.

They could have been part of a national tournament final in Atlanta. The SCHSL came down hard on them and wouldn't let them go. Greer should have been held to the same standard. Mistake or not...rules are rules.

Instead, it's as if nothing happened in Greer....but Greenville...oh, they have to follow the rules.

yeah that sux b/c Blythewood should have won 2 in a row and now no one's left from those teams. Maybe the SCHSL learned from there mistakes....
