Extraordinarily lifelike characters are to begin appearing in films and computer games thanks to a new type of animation technology.

that's insane. maybe we can make all of our movies out of these characters, fire all the actors that are getting paid out of the wazzoo, and then maybe I can take my girl to a movie theater and buy a coke and popcorn all for under 30 bucks!

I could've been able to tell that she wan't real. Maybe only because I play video games so much, but if you look at her expressions, especially her forehead, you can tell she isn't real. Her forehead never moves with her face when she makes her different faces.

I don't know, Cola...seems like the animation itself will be pretty dang expensive. Gonna have to pay for something no matter what.

Looks great. Think of the implications. No more need for actors in movies/commercials/etc..
id's engine, which is being used in Rage, brings GREAT visuals on current generation platforms. 100-GB "megatexture" support as Carmack coined them, great open-world consistency, and very good animation.
