I know we used to have a thread about it but who here is a Scisa Alum?
Also how do you think your team will be this year if you still keep up with them?
I don't have a dog in this fight anymore. My school closed in 2000.
Roy Hudgens Academy Class of 96.

How did losing Noonan affect you guys over there. Isn't Talley the new coach?
BTW I don't know how long you have went there, but we used to have a pretty good rivalry with Wilson Hall Back in the Day. Hudgens was just down the road in Lynchburg.

well we lost 18 seniors i think so we lost our coach and a lot of the players and yes Talley is the coach now and 1 of the assistant coaches that came here when Noonan came is Kurt Wilson(former Gamecock player!)and i dont think i remember Hudgens.but we play in a kinda weak conference so i think we can still have a pretty good year!:woo:

St. Stephen Academy here. The school closed in 1990. Bobby Marion was the coach (Coaches West Ashley High School now). We had 14 people on our team and he managed to win state in 86, 87, and 89. He would run us so hard in practice, the games were a cakewalk! Iron Man Football!

I think we played yall in 93 at yalls place ... i was a soph. Didnt yall have a big FB that wore an eye shield?
I didnt know the school shut down ... what was the reason?
Slightly off topic, but is anyone from Andrews? That might have been the worst field in America. So many rocks - could have sworn it was an old parking lot that grass grew over ...lol

Wilson Hall, class of '01
Not too sure how they're going to do this year...I know they won pretty convincingly over Hilton Head Christian last week, and this week they play Robert E Lee...I'll go ahead and call that one a win, it usually is...

Yeah REL probably won't be to good this year. Although their JV team two years ago only lost 1 game. So some of those kids are probably the anchors at REL.

Isn't your old Teammate Kevin Rose coaching there now.
BTW I remember we had some great games with you guys in the 95-96 season. I think at your place you guys were winning by about 30 at the half but we cut it to ten or something in the last few minutes but couldn't catch up.
Then at our place you guys got out to a big lead again, this time we were able to come back and win in ot's.
Then Pinewood whipped all our asses in the state tourney.

I'm not a SCISA alum but my little brother is...Jefferson Davis class of 2006. They won the state championship in football and baseball that year...my brother was the RB and was the MVP of the State Championship game, led the state in rushing yards and TDs scored and ypc. He transferred there his senior year from public school. When he got there, no one could touch him at all...he made teams look really silly.

Yes, same classification. Lord Berkeley won state in 89, class of 90 ( I believe that is correct). That means St. Stephen Academy won in 85, 86, and 88...

We won the region in 94-95.
You guys took region in 95-96.
In 95 we played CN in the state title game and lost by 6, I wouldn't call that a killing.
I wouldn't say you whipped us either. We took two of three in 94-95 and we split 2/2 in 95-96
Now as for 97 I don't know what happened I was gone by then along with 9 other seniors from those squads. They weren't left with much after my class left.

We did not split in 95-96 we did not lose to you that year. We only lost 7 games in 3 years and 2 were to you my sophomore year, but my junior year (95-96) we only lost to Wilson Hall in conference and then we lost to Pinewood in the State Championship game.
I didn't know Hudgens was shut down

95-96 Didn't We beat you guys in the Florence Christmas tourney at the exibiton center between FCA, RHA, WH, and Byrnes (not a conference game)? I am pretty sure we beat you guys at our place too. We only lost 3 games at home in my Junior and Senior years. I know one was to Sumter Catholic, one was Laurence Manning, I'm pretty sure the last one was to Thomas Sumter but it might have been to you guys.
Do you keep up with Rector or Dal Conner or any of those guys?

Did he play on the basketball team? Our team played them that three times that year, with us taking two out of three. We lost the first one at Jefferson Davis, but after that, they came to our place and we handed them their only regular season loss when our star player dropped 45 of them. After that, we met again in the Region Finals and we thumped them again the 4th quarter with a team effort this time around. I was injured for that last game unfortunately though. Good times though.
