College Football Team Stock Exchange

I had this idea to trade college football teams as stock. I have created a virtual stock for each football team. Dividends will be paid based on result each week. If you register you get 500 shares of each team, limited to ACC and SEC right now and $1,000 of fake cash to trade with. This is very much beta but thought some people might enjoy it.

hmm..I never understood this stock market stuff..

i understand a team does well stock goes up.

but to sell...you go to trade, Sell the # you want to sell and for price...the market value?

in order for yme to sell stock in a team...someone else has to buy it right?

right, you pick the price you want to sell. There may be a buyer at that price already and you can set that as a price or if you think it is worth more than you set a higher price.

Thanks for joining. It is a little confusing but basically you are selling your shares of teams or buying. Dividends will based on results, so if Carolina beats UGA by 10 then then for each share of South Carolina you own you get 20 cents. If UGA, by some miracle, beats Carolina by 10, you will get a 5 cent dividend since they are higher ranked. So each week, teams values should go up and down based on who they are playing, etc.

42 people in and one of the teams plays tonight: North Carolina vs Rutgers. North Carolina is favored by 4 so if they win their points will be cut in half. So the oddsmakers think they will pay out a 2 cent dividend. You can sell your shares for 20 cents if you don't feel this is worthwhile or buy more at 75 cents if you feel like the team has more value than this. Just trying to help shape strategy for tonight.

The dividend was paid out for the UNC game. Since they won by 32, the dividend will be 16 cents.
