Need some feedback on cable vs satellite ...

I live in ATL and comcast doesnt carry ESPNU or ESPN360

Im about to move into my condo, so im thinking about switching.

I do get my internet piped in by comcast, so it makes sense to bundle TV and ISP ...

Does DirecTV offer internet?

How much is Satellite vs cable? I think my cable bill and internet currently is around 140/month

If you go with directv, you will have to get a twelve dollar sports package along with whatever channel package you get in order to have espnu. They do offer internet but I am unsure of the price. I have the premium package which is about a hundred bucks a month plus the twelve bucks for the sports package that includes espnu. I think they have packages as low as thirty bucks a month though.

It will be the 2009 season we have to worry about all this as that is when the new contract kicks in. Comcast will be getting it pretty soon they have already signed a contract already for it. I bet it happens no later than the end of the year in my estimation for Comcast. I am also in Atlanta on Comcast. I have no opinion on the better choice though.

i guess i will need to talk to friends who have DircTV

i found an article that covers bundlling ISP with DTV but DTV doesnt offer it directly, they have partnered with companies like ATT who give the user ISP at a discount if when they bundle it with satellite tv

As per the announcement about the new SEC contract that I read online, Comcast will add ESPNU before this season is over.
I have friends with DirectTV and they tell me that they lose the picture every time it rains hard or the wind blows hard. I don't have any other information about it. I have Comcast cable and I am in Marietta and it works for me.

You get ESPN classic in the digital basic tier on comcast.

This may or may not affect your decision on which to purchase but still found it interesting and will probably spearhead a LOT of cable companies to do the same thing in the near future.
