I'm kinda confused as to weather to get an LCD or a plasma. people say that the plasmas get hot.

I've got a 46" Samsung LCD and love it. You should try Circuit City now, they have good specials. I think I saw 36 months no interest, not sure if it included no payments too, but still not a bad deal. I got an LCD because of the glare issues I heard with Plasma's if you have alot of light in the room.

We have a 40' Sony Bravia LCD and love it. The picture is awesome. We also have Directv HD. I am not sure what it costs every month but its worth it.

I thought this thread might be about H-D (Harley Davidson) owners. Oh well, as far as LCD vrs Plasma goes, they both will look great and they both get warm, although LCD not as much. The price of Plasma may make that choice best for you. It really depends on where you plan to watch your TV. In a room with lots of outside light (windows), LCD will be your best bet and only choice. When you go looking in the store, look into the screen and see if you can see the reflection of the store lighting. If so, then you can only imagine in a room with windows. As far as DirectTV or Dish HD; watching HD on one of these providers will change your life. You will not want to ever watch football ever again on anything else.

Try to look at a store that does not keep the TV's in a darkened section. No one's house is lighted that way. The local HH Greg had alot of light and windows in the front, you got a better picture of LCD vs Plasma.

I have a Samsung, 1080p, going on two years, been happy with it.

1st LCD vs Plasma debate is pointless as both will be replaced in the next 5 years.. LCD will hang around longer than plasma due to price..

2nd there is nothing being broadcast in 1080p
All HD content from cable and satellite is 1080i.
The only way to get full 1080p is from blu-ray at this point.

IMO you can never go wrong with Samsung

thanks guys heading to best buy in about an hour(already gotta card there) thanks for all the input. looks like Im gonna go LCD since I have a picture window in the room where it will be. my service is already $80 per from directv guess the bill won't change much except the $300 for the box. I'm ready to see the 360 and NCAA 09 on it!!!!!
