For ya'll who are tech savvy out there, I need some help with my PS3 connection. I set up an account on the playstation online and am currently attempting to play COD 4 online. When tried to get online, a message, 'Downloading Game Settings', appears for a while. I've tried this many times and it has only gotten past this message once, but cannot find any games available. In other words, it has searched for over an hour to try and find a game available. I figure that there must be something screwy with the connection, but I'm not quite sure. I checked the network settings and tested the connection and everything's fine. I even made sure it was set to 'wired' (what I use) instead of wireless. My thinking is that the problem has to do with the connection. I live in a college-furnished apartment and figure that there's some sort of connection problem with that, though I know others who live around me that don't seem to have any problems. Software for my PS3 is also updated, so I don't see that being the problem. If there are any suggestions and/or solutions, please let me know. I appreciate it!!!

Also, I tried playing NCAA Football last night and I got to picking my team and right when the game started, it said that the opponent left. I felt like I was lagging a bit, though, so it could be the connection. Can ANYONE help or give insight into my problem? Thanks.

Not to seem that we're ignoring you, but speaking for myself, I don't know why you're having issues.
What kind of connection do you have? Do you have the console connected to a router? Have you tried connecting it straight to the modem if that is the case to see if performs better?
I'm not having trouble issues with CoD4 as I launched it just to see if I was experiencing any.

I tried using a wireless router and I connected it straight to the modem, but both still can' connect to the COD server. I'm just convinced its the school's connection....

this is completely on yourside ... any connection issues like that is on the user side not the actual game ... just sounds like you don't have a good connection
