Anyone know how to make it easier? I have the set up. But I get tired of lugging all the different stuff with me and then it takes me FOREVER to find a signal. I can't afford that $2000 all in one system
SUGGESTIONS?

It doesn't take us but a few seconds to find the signal. This is our first year doing it. The first week I saw someones dish and just pointed ours the same way, we had a picture instantly. Last week we were the first and in a bit of a different spot, but with the tone we got a picture in a few seconds.
No answer on bringing the all the stuff. We are up to a truck and packed loaded car to carry everything, but well worth it.

It just seems like my dish has to be more precise. I may find a signal but then it's tough to get the dish to stay without shaking and then loosing it.

Hmmm, what are you using for a stand? We took a pipe from work for the pole, bought the stand from Radio shack. We just open it, put the dish on the pole and tighten it down, it's solid.

Well I used to not have a stand just a short fixture it came with. I have a stand now that came with the dish. it has flimsy legs and a compass on it etc. But the problem is if you put the legs out and stand it sturdy then what? It's at a 44 degree angle but you have to manipulate the legs around to catch the signal. And that just makes it unsturdy to wind and stuff.
how on a solid pole do you get it to manuever around to find the signal?

We have this stand:

The pole is about 1.5" in diameter and 4 foot long. It's about the size of a fence post. We were going to get one cut at Home Depot until we realized there was one at work we could use.
We set the legs put the pole in the middle and attach the dish. Then it's just a matter of moving it barely left or right. Once the signal is ine, just tighten the bolts on the center pole.

But you don't have to move the actual dish slightly up or down and side to side? The legs on my pole work like that to for the most part but then the dish is won't move up or down if the signal is higher than it's pointing. I have it set at 44 degree angle.

44 degrees sounds right, I'd have to look. You can input the zip code in the set up and it will tell you the degree angle and azimuth degree.
No, we don't have to adjust the dish up and down, we set it and tightened it down according to the set up screen.
We may have to move it left or right, that's what I meant in my last post of moving it barely. I move it maybe a 1/8" at a time, only takes about 15 seconds.
Basically the dish is set and tightened, never needed to be done again. We opeb the tripod, tighten the legs. Put in the center pole, put on the dish and tighten down. Move the dish barely left or right, when the signal is above 80%, tighten the center pole and it's solid until you break out the wrench and take it down.

you can buy a little dish that folds up into a briefcase and pops out for 100 dollars. it works check out your local RV store. just sit it on top of your car and it should be fine.
