Another great performance by EJ's squad

He has to be the best thing that has happened to Carolina since Steve Spurrier

We would probably be 3-4 without him right now

Way to go EJ--Now lets keep it up and shutdown LSU

3-4???

idk about him, but without this defesnse

try 1-6...we'd beat NCST...thats about it.

UAB was stopped, wofford damn near pulled it off...

and one less stop on kentucky we lose.

IMHO we would def be 1-6

most teams would lose every game with no one running the defense...but point taken...he's done a great job....helps to be loaded with talent...but no doubt he's done a fantastic job making adjustments and the like....i was not overly enthused about him, but he's done a great job.

should be back into the top 3 in total defense after today.

Our defense under Ellis Johnson has learned to adjust like no other defense.. think about it, in our last 2 games on the road we have held Ole Miss and UK to a combined 3 points in the 2nd half. Now thats good stuff.

Great hire! He is the equal to Steve Spurrier on the other side of the ball!

Just a Solid, Hard Nosed, Defensive Coach! The Best in the SEC!

I love the way that in the past two games..in the first half we have been ok on defense, but in the second half, really locked down and have only given up 3 points total in the second halves of the last two games...that shows great coaching and great adjustments.

I had first really noticed this during the Ol' Miss game after their 1st 2 drives. I honestly thought they were going to dominate us but coach Ellis stopped that REAL QUICK!!

I think he has made our defense much tougher. Last year it was Norwood or Cook and Jap before the injury that would really hit you. This year the players ALL arrive to the ball with a bad attitude.
Culliver is bringing it even Carlos Thomas was the most physical yesterday in his entire career. He might make it in the NFL if he keeps that kinf of play going.

Our D Line is very good too. And we have depth, which always helps to keep fresh bodies in there. Shows we never let up...

He is a great one. I glad he is one of us.
I think the thing that makes him a good hire beside the obvious is that he really wants to be here versus that first knucklehead they hired. I'm sure he probably wants a big time head coaching job but he really loves USC and that makes a difference

I also feel that EJ is a big step up from the previous regime, so I'm sure that I'll make some folks uncomfortable with rationale beyond Johnson that has to do with the improvement of the defense so far. Maybe Nix would still be here with the additional folks we have this year - Jasper (even 85%), Nathan P, and Jordy & Dusty L boys have all returned from injury or purgatory, plus having Culliver join the defense. That's 5 guys that we didn't have most of last year. Additionally, young big-boy talent such as Geathers and Matthews is growing up at the same time. Not to say that Nix would have had this level of success, only saying that I believe that I could have improved the D with that infusion of talent.
