That Mich. Game clip was a real mind bender for me. I can vividly remember listening to that game on the radio with my best friend while we "Replayed" ever play with a nerf football in his backyard. We would huddle around the radio then pretend to be Big George or Willie Scott as we re-ran the previous play. Then it would be back at the radio to await the next play. When we won we were running around like fools, yelling at the top of our lungs and hugging each other. I must have been 11 or 12.
Thanks for that flashback and thanks for making me realize how old I'm getting. Was that really 26 years ago??? It doesn't seem possible.

So what was the situation at that point in the miami game and what happened from there? They said 3rd and 10 and we trailed by 4 but how much time was on the clock and did we ever convert that? Miami was clearly off sides and they threw the flags before the fight broke. So thats what, a five yard penalty, plus the unnecessary roughness gives us the first down. So what happened?

Miami was clearly off sides and they threw the flags before the fight broke. So thats what, a five yard penalty, plus the unnecessary roughness gives us the first down. So what happened? No unnecessary roughness was called. We were getting cheap shots all game. Then when Ellis got thrown down with no flag, the guys protected Ellis.
By the way, the cheap shot on Ellis by #9 was by one of the Blades twins. They both went on to play in the NFL.
My favorite part is seeing Bathae sling that Miami player around.

That was a sad game, some poor soul died of a heart attack in the west upper stands at that game. I remember seeing a bunch of medical personnel and alot of family members being ushered down the stands :-( It happened right as meat ran the ball for a long TD. I'm not sure how long it was, but it was early in the game and it was at least 30 yards.

I still get chills in my body whenever I see the clips from right after 9-11 and even a little misty. I went to HS my junior year within a mile of the pentagon and could see it smoking on that horrific day from our school. We could feel the ground shake at impact. The first game we played after that was the following monday and on the way back from the game our route took us along side the pentagon right where it had been hit. It was still on fire and smoking. I have never been in a bus full of people so quiet not a single sound was made from there until we arrived back at school.
I had hurt my knee in the first game and remember feeling like the biggest jerk after the morning of 9-11 for having acted the way I did when I had friends parents and family in the pentagon and towers. Will never forget where I was and the accounts of that day.

Don't want to be negative, but when I think of Darrell Nicklow, all I can think is that sure Touchdown he dropped against Tennessee at WB. Would've beaten the Vols that day if I remember right. Dang it!

Which game was that?
Probably 2001. I saw the 2000 game on Classics and that play didn't happen so it was probably the 2001 game.

Which game was that?
Yeah That was the 2001 game. It was amazing the crowd was going nuts because he had an escort and brewer just snuck in a knocked it out. I turned to my mom sitting there and told her that's why that team is special, because of plays like that.

I can't find that play. You sure it was 2001 against MSU?
I would like to see video of Daccus Turman flipping over (or under) an Ole Miss linebacker and taking it about 30 yards. This was probably his junior year.
Noah Whiteside did something very similar to this against Arkansas i think about 2 years ago. Does anyone remember this?
Lalli25
08-06-2006, 09:43 PM
Ya it was at Ole miss in 2003 my freshman year. The LB thought he was down but Turman kept playing. If you watch Wando makes the block that gets him the TD bc like on guy was had an angle to stop him from scoring, if I remember correctly.

Thanks CH! I know that doesn't seem like much but that play saved us that game and quite possibly the season. It really shows what kind of player Brewer was.

I said it once but figured maybe someone missed it. But in 2000 at the Swamp we jumped up on UF 21-3 by blocking 3 consecutive punts. I think that would make a great highlight posting.
