Yeah I only had the opportunity to eat there one time and I was very impressed. It wasn't exactly in a bad area, but I just think with it being right on the edge/outskirts of the Vista- a lot of people forgot about it when going into the Vista to dine.

They folded like a blanket in winter, poor management from what I understood from my friends that worked there.

We used to take visitors to our company that I worked for in Simpsonville to the JPAOC in Greenville, and have been to the one here in Columbia right after we first moved down here. There was a lot of difference between the two. . . .the one here in Columbia didn't seem quite the same (food and atmosphere etc.. .)

I never ate at the one in Columbia, but the one in Greenville is outstanding and I even saw John Paul himself many times at the Greenville site; that could be the reason it was so much better with food and service. When you have the one eyed patch man looking over your shoulder, employees tend to do their job with a smile.

The best ribs I ever had! That's what I go there for....any rack of ribs should be compared to John Paul's IMO....they are the bench mark...

I've always wondered why the one in Cola closed. Heck, we ate there the day I graduated from USC!
