I would like to start following the lady gamecocks and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about our recruiting class or upcoming classes? Last I heard, Staley was really going after some top notch talent. Has anything happened?

Thanks for the direction. I hope we get her as she is the #2 prospect in the nation. I saw that we also had the 88th player overall, from NY. Looks like Staley is starting to get noticed here and hopefully get some great future players. pts for the help bud.
Whatever happened to that stud 3 point shooter we had last year? Did she transfer?

Jordan Jones, sadly yes. To Florida none the less

FYI, the Lady Vols don't have any scholarships available for 2010, so that should help our efforts in recruiting top talent.

I guess she just realized that USC womens basketball was a joke? (at the time)

She did not think she would thrive under Dawn Staley's system.

Wow, that's very impressive. ESPNU 100 Rank: 26 and Position Rank: 4
Rising 2011 post prospect Elem Ibiam commits to SC
Elem Ibiam, a 6-foot-3 post from Griffin, Ga., gave her verbal commitment to South Carolina and head coach Dawn Staley, accoridng to her Southeast Elite club coach Toni Gore. She chose the Gamecocks over Florida and Georgia Tech though she was getting attention from several other schools according to Gore.
Ibiam attended elite camp at South Carolina, though she wasn't able to fully participate due to injury. According to Gore both Ibiam and her mother were impressed with the relationship between Staley and her players and wanted to make the decision now so the other schools interested could pursue other propsects.

Haha, couple of years hell. If the SEC stays down like it was last year, the rise might be sharp and swift. I doubt it does though.

I was just saying that this is a 2011 prospect and we have that girl from Maryland transferring who will have to sit out a year. Plus Kelsey Bone will have a year of experience. By that time we will be serious contenders.

Oh I agree. It's funny how when Spurrier was hired, everyone thought our football program was gonna ramp up. I believe it's getting there, just a little slower than expected. Add that to the fact that baseball is supposed to be our sport. I'm gonna laugh my ass off if Coach Staley gets the big one first. I don't care much for women's basketball, but I'd start going to the games in a heartbeat if they got that good.

Start making plans because Staley can recruit. When you sign a top 5 class in your second year you will be taking names before long.

USC women's basketball coach Dawn Staley Wednesday announced the signing of 6-4 Brittany Webb of New York City. Webb has helped her team to a 78-11 record over the past three seasons. She's rated 16th among centers nationally by ESPN. Staley expects her to play power forward for the Gamecocks.
