6-6 2G/SF Shane Southwell of New York City a USC target and is interested in the Gamecocks. "I talked with coach Boynton about 3-4 days ago," Southwell said. "He said they are coming up to New York soon. They are very interested." Southwell also has offers from Marquette, Kansas State, Providence and St. Johns. He's also getting interest from Miami and Kentucky. He said USC, Marquette and Kansas State will be three of his in home visits, and he plans to schedule official visits with the offering schools. He said those five are recruiting him with the same effort and he doesn't have a favorite. Southwell is not sure if he'll sign early or in the spring. He only played in 12 games last season because he transfered from another school. He averaged 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists per game. He also plays some point guard.

Question c2-

In your first post you said he was a 4*, now his rivals page says he's a 3*. Did he get downgraded?

Wildcats nab NYC forward Shane Southwell
According to ESPN.com's Kansas State affiliate, www.KSUfans.com (http://www.KSUfans.com), small forward Shane Southwell verbally committed to the Wildcats over the weekend.

Southwell chose the Wildcats over Marquette, Providence, South Carolina and St. John's.

"I knew I was coming to Kansas State since early September," said Southwell who admits that it was certain relationships that made him commit. "I had the the best relationship with a head coach with Coach Martin. I also knew Jordan Henriquez and Curtis Kelly from before."

He was the second prospect to pick K-State over the weekend, following Class of 2011 forward Nino Williams (Leavenworth, Kan./Leavenworth H.S.).
