    Hey Spurt,
Any chance you can look at my snake post and help me out? Need facts to calm down my crazy wife. Thanks,
    Hank
  7. I really don't think Spurrier thought he was going to be facing what he has here at USC.
I think he thought his name alone, and what he did in UF would be enough to have the
national elite recruits flooding his office to play for him. . . . . didn't work out like that.
He had the cream of the crop in his back yard to chose from when he coached at UF, and
him having played there, and being able to tell those kids "If I Won A Conf. Title at DUKE
of all schools, I'll win one here as well if you join me" . . . He raked in the 4* and 5* talent
and proceeded to set up his offense and wipe out the rest of the leauge.
HERE . . . . He is now having to compete with not only recruiting AGAINST Florida now, but
those other big name schools out of Florida as well as the big name schools around UF were
growing up since he left the game and went to the NFL. . . . . .USC is USC and trying to sell
this program to a kid out of Florida and South GA ain't as easy as it was in Florida. He's
finding that out. . . . . . . . As for the QB situation. I strongly feel Spurrier saw everything
he wanted in Stephen Garcia and though this was the kid he could build a National Power
around, only he didn't forsee Garcia's lax attitude and lazy streak and it's proved to be his
downfall. . . . . Spurrier was hell bent on making Garcia into a top notch SEC Caliber QB, and
Spurrier's ego would not let him believe he'd made a mistake putting all his time, effort,
blood, sweat and Tears into. He's finally facing the fact that Garcia is not the guy who
he hoped he would be even though he's gotten the talent around him. . . . It's made for a
pretty bad start to the season . . . .But don't get too down buddy. . . Take my word on this.
Shaw is the guy who Spurrier should have been placing the future of this program on. The
Offense is about to come to life. . . . maybe not the offense everyone was picturing at the
start of the season, becaue it'll take Shaw a few games to get really comfortable as the
head of the offense, But the offense will start moving this weekend, and it will be serviceable.
    We'll be OK

"The usual excuses abound when things don't go well, and the perfect
season expectations start to fade. .... Yeah, I'll say it again: "Reality
Is A Bitch Sometimes". Those usually start with cussing out certain players"

How did it get like this ?
    1. Steve Spurrier comes to Columbia, for those of us who where around when he blew teams out of the water at Florida......we envisioned Carolina one day doing the same.
    2. recruiting got better, Alshon and Marcus made the day look brighter.
    3. The Baseball team wins two national Championships...inside football fan felt we were next.
    4. South Carolina has a remarkable season and many first were accomplished last year
    5. South Carolina wins it's first SEC East title .......belief grows
6.The nations #1 HS recruit chooses to stay home and play here....grows even more , many subconsciously we feel he is the missing peace of the puzzle
    7. Stephen Garcia is a 5 year senior know this system and had a good year.....it had to get better this year...?
    8. Marcus is national freshman of the year, Alshon is a biletnikoff finalist .....surly they will be better in 2011...right ?
    9. All the preseason talk along with the aforementioned
    10. Now Gamecock nation has to take off their Garnet colored glasses
    Your thoughts ?
  9. Hi Linda,
If you'd like to send the picture, I could get it to a couple of the football players or the
AD via their Emails and see where it goes from there. . . That was a beautiful rainbow
wasn't it ? . . My wife and I took several of it from our house too. We can try it from
there and see if it gets to the team. . . . . You can Email it to Lastchild4@aol.com and I'll
send on and see if we can get it to the guys.

    Thanks
    Rick (Spurticus)

Hey Mr Spurticus. I thought you would be a good person to ask about how to send a very inspirational photo that my daughter, who is a senior at USC took from her appartment the other day. She is living at Carolina Wallk and took a picture of a double rainbow that started in the practice field and ended at the entrance of the stadium. I could e-mail them to you and maybe if you know how e-mail to someone on the team that could show the team the pictures. Let me know how. I am not good at this cockytalk and would post on here but thought it would be more meaningful if the team saw it first.
BTW my real name is Linda.
