Every Marine and Soldier I have ever met would strongly disagree with you on this.

People are tools and find it necessary to correct every mistake they see on the internet.

With that said, this is awesome!

I've known a couple marines and they do take offense by being called anything other than a marine and God forbid, don't say former marine.

Once a marine, always a marine. It is a source of pride with them. Let's honor it.

No I am correcting a great insult. If you have never stepped on the yellow footprints you would not understand.

The stadium will erupt!!! AWESOMENESS!!!!

It will be more epic than the soldier coming back to his family pre UGa 2012.

If we defer, I'm pretty sure the defense might actually kill someone out there after this.

Yeah I don't think any of us would have a problem with yall going up to Clemson and having a Yell rally either.

I think it more of a mention of respect, South Carolinians take a lot of pride in the state house, and for someone to use it in a manner of disrespect offends a lot of people.

Though we all know it is going to happen, just know Gamecock fans rarely forget things like that, and love to take it up a notch when the tables are turned.

Double negatives much??? Now I'm splitting hairs.

If everyone is really that upset, I'm sorry. I guess I'll just call them all service men...wait, damn it..now I've pissed off the women in service....Service people. Is that better?

True...we do take pride in our state house...just not the people we put in it.

If someone calls me a soldier, I correct them.

If they say "same thing" I explain that it isn't.

I earned the title of Marine at Parris Island. I chose to go in the USMC, not the Army. The purpose of each is different.

The army is an occupying force, Marines are the tip of the spear. Sometimes the lines are blurred, but the patch on my uniform that said U.S. MARINES is never blurry.

While I can appreciate those that think it's "all the same" don't need to know the difference: I don't ask much, just call me Marine. Not soldier, not sailor, not airman. I am a Marine. If you don't, I won't get mad, I'll correct you. If you say it's all the same I will explain the difference. Then I hope it stops there.

I don't usually get on a soap box, and I hate when/if people say "I'm a veteran" to get something. But for those that didn't get to come back home, please take a few seconds to know the difference.

Army = soldier
USMC = Marine
Navy = sailor
Air Force = airmen (regardless of gender)

You spent all that time discussing that you're a Marine and finished it with saying you hate when people expose themselves as Veterans.

NICE!
