Carolina Panthers get the ninth pick in the draft.

The draft order has finally been determined and the Carolina Panthers will be picking ninth. The decision was determined by a coin flip earlier. The Panthers were to pick 8th or 9th pending the coin flip.

While the Dolphins apparently "win" the 8th spot, this could conceivably make it more realistic for the Panthers to pick up Melvin Ingram since most "experts" seem to value Coples more for the DL. If the Dolphins do take Coples, then it's very possible Carolina will take Ingram. How likely? That remains to be seen, but it's definitely not out of the realm of realistic.

Sadly, I see it being either Brockers or Kirkpatrick.

Can we trade Cam to the Patriots and re-draft Armanti Edwards?

Yeah Ingram would be nice. But I remember just how bad our secondary was

I hate you.

I really want Claibourne, but I would be happy with Kirkpatrick. I was less than thrilled with our secondary this past year.

I BLAME THAT GLORY BOY SCAM NEWTON FOR ALL OF OUR SECONDARY TROUBLES! HE'S A FRAUD WHO WAS MADE TO LOOK GOOD BY ELITE RECEIVERS SUCH AS BRANDON LAFELL AND DAVID GETTIS!!!

I want Mo as well. But I don't know that he will be there for us

I don't think Claibourne will fall to the Panthers. I'm also not sold on Kirkpatric. I witnessed Alshon RUIN him first-hand in 2010. I want the DT from Memphis. He's huge and agile. Hurney will notice these two things, only, and throw the kitchin sink at him.

I say we should go Kirkpatrick, Antonio Allen for first two picks.

I'm hoping Claibourne tests positive for weed, or gets arrested for a minor assault before the draft and slips to the Panthers. I wouldn't hate Brockers though. Maybe Blackmon will have a Crabtree-esque slide and fall to us. That would be fun.

I'm abandoning the Panthers if they draft an offensive player in the first round. We already have a top 10 offense, and a top LAST defense. Make the main thing the main thing, Hurney.

If I'm forced to abandon them, I'll choose another NFL team to support at random. Ok, looks like the Giants!

Since Mo Claiborne won't be available I honestly think the best choice for the Panthers is either Michael Brockers or Janoris Jenkins. Too bad Jenkins is too much of a risk. He has some mad talent.

I'm a fan of taking the best player available, or, if there are similarly graded players, taking the one that best suits your needs/scheme (clearly we aren't going to draft Upshaw, etc.)

I think the defense will be better next year with our linebackers coming back. I don't want to take defense, just because it's defense if the elite players are gone and we are making a big reach, especially if there is an elite player out there who fits our scheme. Ex: If for some reason, RGIII is available at #9 (not going to happen of course), pick the hell out of him, then trade the hell outta him.

I probably gave the wrong idea. I like both of the players I mentioned actually. I just would like to see the Panthers get one of the stars from USC for once. Yeah, I know they got Norwood, but I honestly felt as though it would be tough for him ever to get decent playing time as a true DE. Most of his big moments came from the LB position, but I knew the Panthers wouldn't use him the same way USC did. I guess what I'm saying is I feel Ingram has a more than decent chance of becoming a legitimately good pro player, so to have him play for both the college and pro teams I pull for would be amazing.
