If you stay there + 20 years, moving is hard with all the memories.

But congrats on your purchase.....glad you'll be able to take advantage of the tax deductions. I'm guessing your interest rate is about 3.0 to 3.5%.

Correct on the interest rate.

I've been in the apartment I'm currently sitting in as I type this for two years. It's been a rocky two years but...you win some, you lose some. I lost someone I *thought* was a friend but was sorely mistaken; however, I got closer to my oldest friend (since 4th grade) than I ever could have if he and I hadn't lived together for two years.

Congtats. Its been two and a half years since i bought my first house here in York. Ive learned there is always something that needs done. Just had a friend from work and his wife come over for dinner tonight. He's a plumber. My plumbing got backed up in the main bathroom and we fixed it. And im still working on my yard. Going to fertalize again next month and have been cutting down some trees in an effort to get more sun on the yard in the daytime.

I hired my mom. We got a lot moved in two days. The last day, my dad and brother helped move the big stuff (the bed, a chest of drawers, etc.) I also had two friends move my liquor cabinet (even bottle-less it still weighed a lot).

just a word of warning...as a homeowner, there are more unexpected expenses than you could ever have imagined.

I have been thoroughly warned and am expecting the unexpected (like my key and remote garage door opener not working).

Not too much. I want to re-do an area around the front porch because it's black mulch. Mulch is fine, but I think a BIG flower bed would be awesome. I also have a whiskey barrel that I'm going to cut it half width-wise to make another little flower bed more in the shade near the garage. I have a lot of plans, but mainly inside.

Patients is the key. You will want to do everything at once but you need to take a breath and take your time. We hopefully all have the time to get things done. Congrats. Nothing fells like your first home.
