COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina welcomed Florida to Columbia on Sunday afternoon, and the Gamecocks sent the Gators back to Gainesville with a 67-56 loss. USC (23-6, 11-5 Southeastern Conference) used a 42-point second half to create separation and pick up their 11th SEC win of the year.

Ashley Bruner set the tone for the Gamecocks with a team-high 16 points to go along with eight boards. Bruner connected on six of her 15 shots on the afternoon and South Carolina shot 41.5 percent from the floor as a team. USC forced the Gators (17-13, 6-10) into 23 turnovers while limiting UF to just 13 assists on the offensive end.

Aleighsa Welch had a solid outing for the Gamecocks, racking up a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ieasia Walker chipped in 14 points of her own while dishing out eight assists, and Tiffany Mitchell added seven points in the win as well.

Florida went into the half tied with South Carolina, but the Gators were outscored by 11 points in the final 20 minutes. USC led by as many as 14 points throughout the second half.
