So Cedrick is starting Will for spring? He must be coming along with his knee better than expected....

Happy to see B.Stadnik make the two-deep at the guard spot behind Cann.

I think Shaw, Cedrick, Matulis, McWilliams and Gurley are listed, but won't be participating in Spring drills.

Is this official or just your personal guess.

That's kind of like saying you're happy to finish 3rd in a 3-man race. We're kind of thin in OG depth this year...every OL on the depth chart represents all our returning scholarship OL plus one true freshman, who I'm hoping we won't need this season and he gets to redshirt...

Re: Spring Depth Chart

If you go on gamecockcentral they have the numbers of the players.

I think someone was wanting to know who was gonna get jersey#1. Damiere Byrd got it. Nick jones has #3 now.

That was the only number changes I saw though.

Wow .. Byrd at the starting X-receiver.

Re: Spring Depth Chart

We also only have 3 healthy corners this Spring .. Hampton, Legree, and Rhodes.

Martin is still dealing with a hammy.

Well I was unsure about where he projected on the college level (he did pay LT in high school). Just happy to see a highly touted O-Lineman get in the mix after dealing with an injury and having to redshirt.

I was surprised to see this too. Maybe a little extra challenge to Shaq and Shamier...

Also Brock Stadnick at G is interesting.

well, that limits his functionality. He also better have hit the weight room in order to get off that press coverage. Speed wont always do it.

I thought ellington would be x and byrd z. am i making sense?

Re: Spring Depth Chart

I wouldn't say it limits him. If anything, it expands his role tremendously as he is now "viewed" as the go to receiver on the majority of the passing plays. The X receiver is typically our best player. Bruce and Ace flip flopped between the two spots, X and Z, last season as they were interchangeable.

+1 on getting stronger. He also better fine tune that route running. He is going to be asked to do a whole bunch more than deep post or 9 route.

That's correct. They are all still injured and will not be participating this Spring. I don't think Cooper or Gurley are projected to be ready by the fall either. Cooper even later...

ok, i just read up on those spots not long ago and the the article made it sound like the x receiver was the guy who lined up wide and had to go out on all plays. supposedly the x receiver cannot go in motion. of course, that is as per the article. i thought that limited him.

Re: Spring Depth Chart

im hoping Kwinton Smith wins that spot at WR. I like Nick Jones, he played well at the end of last season...I just think Smith can be a big time play maker.

Is Deon just not producing, or was it a big guy at a little high school make him look good?
