Texas is one state we rarely get recruits. Just too much competition.

You are right.
Not just Texas and TAMU...but Texas Tech, Baylor, SMU, and TCU in state.
Throw in Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, LSU, Arkansas and Mizzou and you are barking up a tall tree to get a kid to come to South Carolina.

Well if you have a staff member that has ties or a network to some coaches and schools in that state, you'd be a fool not to at least throw something out there and see what happens. That is exactly was USC is doing. Every year, they should be putting offers out in states like Texas, California, and Ohio because you can't get those players unless you at least try. I think eventually, they'll get a bite.

You are starting to see it this year. Thaddeus Snodgrass from Ohio is a great example. If USC gets him on campus, they got a shot.
