Omaha Eight:Week Three
1. North Carolina — All the Tar Heels are doing is winning, and winning in a dominant fashion. Their win over Rice on Friday sent the Owls into a weekend tailspin.
2. Vanderbilt — The Commodores are playing solid on both sides of the ball. The staff ERA is just more than 2.00, and the offense is hitting .327. 3. LSU — It wasn’t easy, but the Tigers improved to 10-1 with a perfect week. Should be smooth sailing until the Mississippi State series in two weeks. 4. Oregon State — The Beavers stayed undefeated and continue to get some of the best starting pitching in the country. 5. South Carolina — Clemson doesn’t have the team they have had lately, but it’s never easy to win the rivalry series. The Gamecocks passed their first test. 6. Oregon — The Ducks slipped up a bit, losing two-of-three in Fullerton, but there’s a golden opportunity to get back on track this weekend against Vanderbilt. 7. Mississippi State — The Bulldogs were really good offensively last season, and if the early season results are any indication, they have the pitching to go with it this year. 8. UCLA — The Bruins had a pretty easy week, but rougher waters are ahead with Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Southern Cal on deck this weekend. http://www.chasingomaha.com/college-...k-three-2.html |

We are moving up! I'm glad to see they did not put MSU ahead of us. Also, Arkansas came unglued last week. |
Re: Omaha Eight:Week Three
Got a feeling Fullerton and FSU will replace Oregon and Miss. State.
Just not sold on the bulldogs yet. |
Re: Omaha Eight:Week Three
How's Kentucky doing? They were the surprise team last year.

Did lose to Kansas State...but like most teams at this time of year...haven't really played anybody. We will if they are for real when we play them...have to go through Florida (who is going to get better with their talent), LSU and Miss. State. |
Re: Omaha Eight:Week Three
I'm looking forward to seeing how MSU stacks up against LSU.
FYI: LB has a better batting average than Raph Rhymes, currently. LB is .472 with ob% of .572. Rhymes is .409 and .509, respectively. |

Re: Omaha Eight:Week Three
Are there many more teams that have so many home games as we do? I am not complaining, but it hardly seems fair we've only played two games way from home outside our confernce.

Re: Omaha Eight:Week Three
Miss State lost their weekend series. I fully expect them to slide below us and we'll move up another slot.
Vandy showed out this weekend. The SEC E is really warming up. I can't wait for conference play to begin. |
