CHeck out my blog

I'm not a fancy designer or anything else, but this is just something that I thought would be helpful to parents with children in sports.

I am going to try and add a new post once a week time permitting. Let me know what you think.

As a non-parent I do not have much use for the blog, but I did read it and it was insightful for the future.

Man, you really nailed it. Some parents can be awful to deal with. I wasn't a coach, but my girls played soccer for years so I've come acoss all kinds of parents. I was never disrespectful to any coach my girls had and told my girls to listen to their coach because he was taking time out of his own life to teach them a game. I hate that you have to put up with that. When we had a parent like that on our team we'd tell them to chill or take a hike.

I will add something funny - both of my girls have always told me that when we're yelling at them and trying to coach them from the sidelines during games they can't hear us and have no idea what we're saying and that we should stop. The oldest of my girls is now married with two kids of her own and her 4 year old just started playing soccer. And guess what she does? She yells from the sidelines. Lol.

My oldest plays baseball and I catch myself all the time when it comes to coaching him from the stands. I just hang my head and walk away and watch from a distance.

Appreciate the kind comments:thumbsup:

I am reminded of the story being told on a sports radio talk show a few years back. Seems there was a huge fight at a little league game. After hearing the description of the fight, his only comment was "I bet there were women in tube tops there".

Good stuff 2k. I coach soccer too and have not had those issues yet but i have seen them quite a bit. I have a bit of a big personality and i am used to conflict due to my profession (not a cop) I think my parents understand that i care more than they do that my players play hard and improve. I heap praise on them more than admonishment and the kids respond to it.

I enjoyed the read.

AYSO:thumbs:

The political correctness of it is mind blowing though. Silent saturday once a season really takes the energy out of a soccer game.
