Gunner Kiel Transfers...

Former #1 QB prospect. Really? Sound like a major flake. Interesting to see where he ends up though.

He should've stayed home and gone to Indiana.

Where exactly do you think ND is located?

He was originally committed to Indiana for damn near a year I think, then decommitted and committed to LSU. He should have gone to either one of the first two, he knew he how much competition he would have at ND and likely wouldn't start for 2-3 years. Meanwhile, he could have started at Indiana this year and would have played some this year at LSU.

Could see this guy landing at Kentucky or something. As far as his recruiting process, can't blame him for choosing an in-state school that has the ability to win a lot. Depends on what's more important to the prospect. If I'm a recruit I'm looking at the depth chart at my position.

Lattimore and Clowney could just have easily chosen a BAMA, or LSU but they wanted to be a part of something special, something never done before at SC. Were getting there....

Re: Gunner Kiel Transfers...

I wonder if 1) IU would take him after he ditched them, 2) would ND release him to IU

or worse for us, he ends up at Vandy?

Re: Gunner Kiel Transfers...

Heard that the fact that he has been "committed" to three schools in under a year has turned a lot of schools off from the prospect of bringing him on. At this point, I don't see how IU could turn him down if he wanted to go back. Does ND ever play IU?

omg... if he ends up at vandy..... could you imagine him with all those four star receivers they just got and the runningbacks... WTF

I don't think so, but ND could end up being assholes to the kid. In a far fetched way, IU is direct competition to ND on the recruiting trail as they recruit the same regional territories

Vandy was feeling GOOD about Kiel after he decommitted from IU. I believe he visited there twice? Wouldn't be a total shock to me if he went there. Definitely wouldn't be a good thing for USC or the SEC for that matter.

Yeah, i get that.

I guess I read that post as saying he should have stayed home in the state of Indiana which is where ND is located as well.

Don't blame him. He never even told the staff he was going to ND. Just showed up to campus on move in day.

Kiel is from Columbus, which is only about 35 miles from Bloomington. South Bend is about 200 miles.

So, I guess I'll be more specific. He should have stayed closer to home and gone to Indiana University. He would've done much better there.

Nobody thought Golson would turn out like this.. although I still think he is vastly overrated

He will probably end back up at LSU. Miles song and dance about him will change.

No offense, but if he couldn't beat out the two Notre Dame QB's for any playing time this year, I'm not sure how much of an immediate threat he'd be at Vandy. Can he develop into something? Maybe, it would largely depend on why he never saw the field in the first place. Some of these reasons would lend themselves to his playing well at other places. Maybe he needed to develop more physically, or maybe he wasn't getting very good coaching in his opinion, or maybe he felt Notre Dame was moving to a system that did not fit his style well and wanted a fresh start. Other reasons would haunt him wherever he went, like a poor work ethic, sense of entitlement, unwillingness to try and unseat the current starter, etc.

Doesn't his brother play for Indiana? And I believe Oklahoma was another school he was high on during the recruiting process.
