Charleston old jail tours

Anybody ever been on a tour of the old jail downtown? What's it like? Any ghostly experiences?

Wondering if it's worth the $$$$

We've done the Christmas carrage tour (obviously not going on right now) and did the Bull Dog (I think is the company name) tour called the Dark Past of Charleston or something. It's the one where they talk about prostitution and all ... it was really cool.

We did one of the old Exchange building where they had the old jail underneath it. It was cool, but a little ... eehhh.

I didn't think the Old Exchange Building was anything special when I toured it.

Thanks for posting this! I've done the old exchange and provost dungeon, but I didn't know about the jail tour. I've googled it and looks awesome. Can't wait to hear more about it on cockytalk!

Went there in July 2010

Do they still have the robotic characters down in the dungeon area?

I went a year or so back. I didn't seen anything or feel anything. At all really. But the history was cool as crap. They told great stories about it. And you get to learn about some of the most famous murders in sc history.

Harbor View Elem and JIMS loved that place. Pretty sure I went on at least 7 or 8 field trips there.

Provost dungeon was kind of cool. That's the one with the robotic people, right?

The ghost tours you go on late at night are pretty amazing

Wasn't that good in my opinion. I like the ghosts and graveyards tour alot though. And it's about an hour longer so you get more for your money. Btw, don't know which company you are using but Bull Dog Tours is by far my favorite.
