**USC vs. Vanderbilt GAME Thread**
 

South Carolina concludes the regular season at Vanderbilt on Saturday in the second meeting between the two schools in 2013. The Commodores posted a 58-51 victory in January at Colonial Life Arena. The contest will be televised on the SEC Network (check local listings) set for a 1:47 p.m. ET start time. Scouting Vanderbilt
The Commodores suffered a 66-40 loss at Florida on Wednesday, but had won their three previous games - at Mississippi State, vs. Georgia and at Auburn. Vandy enters Saturday's contest with a 13-16 overall record, which includes a 7-10 mark in SEC play. VU is currently ranked 10th in the league. Sophomore guard Kedren Johnson paces the team with 13.7 points per game and 3.6 assists per outing. The Gamecocks held Johnson to just three points in the meeting at Colonial Life Arena in January. Vandy ranks third in league play in field goal defense, holding opponents to just 60.1 points per game and the Commodores' 7.9 made 3-point baskets per game ranks second. The team is led by head coach Kevin Stallings in his 14th season.

If we win this one and a tourney game, we will be 16-16 overall with a .500 record. That will be a huge accomplishment after last year. Anything else is gravy. Go cocks!

A win today would be an upset. Vandy is playing better than we are. They beat Georgia, Auburn, and Mississippi State by 41 before losing to Florida Wednesday night.

Going to Nashville, I don't see us winning this but hey I've been wrong before. Can't shoot 21% like we did in Columbia against them.

Another reason it would be a big win. We haven't won back to back SEC games since Jan 2011. Over two years...We won @UF and then beat Arkie at home.

We can win this game. We need to win this game. I want to see us have a winning record when the last game has been played. Winning this game would give us a much better chance of achieving that. If we can shoot the ball well, we will have a chance today.

We are not going to have a winning record. We're 14-16 right now. We would have to win today and win 2 tournament games just to go 17-17.

Even if we manage some sort of decent lead in this game I have no confidence that we won't go through a horrible scoring slump...or if it's tied at the half. See Texas A&M game, and huge blown lead vs Miss State.
