Tennessee's Butch Jones Talks the Talk
I realize that UT has yet to snap the ball in 2013, and the depth at QB is
limited. However, UT's new coach is young, well spoken, and displays a controlled intensity. How the team responds to their new coach is anybody's guess. I do know that he is impressive behind the camera. I enjoy pulling against UT (not as much post Lame), but I'm intrigued with the new coach. I look forward to seeing what kind of product he puts on the field next year. It is a long presser, but give it a few minutes. http://www.volnation.com/forum/tenne...nce-video.html |

I think I one of the few people that thought Dooley was doing a good job with what he had. Butch Jones is gonna do well there, but I think had they given Dooley more time, he would have had them back in contention.

Re: Tennessee's Butch Jones Talks the Talk
His philosophy on pass skeletons intrigues me. He says no pass skeletons for the QB's because it's like being on a golf range. You can hit it down the fairway on the range, but put it in the woods once you get on the course. He's got a point. I understand it's for the QB to see and know where to go with the ball against the coverage, but that's only half of the play. Part of it is standing behind that offensive line, feeling the pressure, reacting and making a play. Sometimes improvising and running. It would make sense to always practice with a pass rush in my opinion.

I've heard he is very impressive and the players/recruits really like him.

If he can coach as well as he recruits and represents the university, we've got the right guy.
