The media picked us to be 13th, ahead of only MSU. We ended up 12th, ahead of AU (who were picked 12th by media) and MSU. We essentially ended up where we were expected to, albeit one spot higher than expected, so you could argue that we slightly overachieved our predicted finish, or AU underachieved. AU got 95 pre-season votes to LSU's 116, so they were pretty close to be considered good for 11th (USC got 54 and MSU got 37)...
I was expecting us to finish somewhere around .500 and we've done that....I was thinking we could win 5 SEC games versus AU, MSU, UGA, and Vandy, and we win 4. I didn't expect the wins over Arky and Ole Miss, so that helped. I guess overall we're exactly who we thought we were. A win over MSU will depend on if our team comes into the tourney wanting to improve their season and go out in a solid fashion, or if they are only thinking of moving on....... |
