I think they just like to give Greiner a rest on Saturday. Dante is still very good and probably deserves to play some. We're lucky to have two catchers as good as they are.

carolina has had a history of very fine catchers. saying that, we have never had two catchers this good on the same squad.

can you win the award if nobody ever runs on you? at this point it is getting comical. rider would have beat us on sunday if they stole a couple bases. you would think that rider wouldve tried with that game on the line. grayson is just badass.

I figured the first two times it happened, it was because it was the first game of a double header, and they didn't want Greiner catching all day. Just wasn't sure why it was continuing.

While Rosenburg has hit a couple clutch balls, I'd rather have Greiner at the plate overall. He's got a higher ceiling IMHO. R

osenburg has been a great bullpen catcher for years, so it doesn't pain me to see him play or anything. Glad a guy has stuck it out and gets rewarded with game time. Just didn't know if there was something between Rosenburg/Holmes that was important enough not to have Greiner catch for him (Rosenburg was the catcher for the combined no hitter I believe).

During the Clemson series, they said Rosenburg caught Holmes last year and they really worked well together, and the staff liked it.

Plus, with Grayson having some injuries last year, a day off here and there would be good for the big fella. Squating 6'5 time and time and time again day in and day out isn't going to make him any younger.
