i had a discussion about rpi the other day and i said i couldnt care less about it. the sec is the toughest conference in the country and that gives you a built in advantage.

i honestly never look at rpi when it comes to baseball..now basketball is a different story. i think rpi matters alot more in sec basketball. jmo.

I think Upstate is better than that ranking

I have to agree that I don't follow RPI in baseball all that much. We stay in the top 10 most of the season, we are pretty much a guarantee for a top 8. RPI of course will come into account when choosing say spots 6-8, especially if the teams are fairly close as far as records, and usually choosing some of the "bubble" teams.

Yep....being in the top 8 gets us home games throughout the playoffs.....huge. I will be thrilled if we are #5 at the end of the season. That should get us slightly easier opponents, but at that time of year, they're all good.

Re: Boyds World RPI...

Also #1 on Warren Nolan's RPI listing as well.....

http://warrennolan.com/baseball/2013/rpi

Davidson is around 220th in both polls, so the next few games through this weekend will drop us a bit....

Re: Boyds World RPI...

RPI in baseball is extremely flawed and sadly the NCAA relies on it way too much when it comes to national seeding.

Something is funny with those rankings. 6-7 Michigan State is #6? 3-0 Dartmouth is #15?
