Both Chris Low and Edward Ashcoff see us a contenders in the east. Compared to each being not sold on Florida or Georgia.

You know, we've been talking about next year for 50 years......well next year is finally here.
It's time to put up or shut up. We're not going to get many better opportunities than this year. Everybody said he would never win a NC in baseball.....how did that turn out. We've got the talent and the coaching.

So the Gator grad picks us as a pretender and the gators as a contender? shocking...

The east is between UGA-USC Florida doesn't have enough offense and lost too much on defense.

Going to be a long offseason after the Spring Game...we have some recruiting gems within arms reach to follow all summer, Clowney, Shaw and Thompson... and the greatest baseball show on Earth....Great to be a GAMECOCK!

I would agree, but they came out of nowhere last year. They have the talent, because, well, it's Florida, but I don't think they will get a passing game, their future at qb will be a true frosh, and if they didn't manage a passing game with that O-line last year, they probably won't this year. I still don't understand it though, something just doesn't add up, but without Gillislie, and people keying on the run game, like Louisville, I see them dropping to third. Y'all destroyed him, and we beat them in all stats but turnovers and score.

I agree. If you would have told me in 2007 we would go 11-2 back to back seasons and not go to the SEC CG I would call you crazy. I won't use UGA's schedule as an excuse but that UGA to LSU to FLA stretch would be brutal for any team. I think even Bama could have possibly lost 2 games with that stretch but everything happens for a reason I guess. Something just tells me if we don't get it this year, it could be awhile til we get this close again. That's only because we haven't seen a lot of success around here though until recently. I think Spurrier will leave this team in a good position to be successful for some time after his departure, but I sure would love to see us win it with him as our head coach. If it does happen, it will still take awhile to sink in... but it will be so sweet! I get chills thinking about it.

Praying for healthy lines all year. We have a team and schedule for Spurrier to make a run with. Ya'll gonna be there with me for the ride? Win or lose?

Agree! Clowney will anchor a solid but young defense and the offense should be the best of the Spurrier era. That being said, at this point it is all conjecture.

My 2 big "ifs" this year are......if our OL is better than last year, which it should be....and if our defense is just as good, which it could be....we got a shot.

We have a Georgiaesque schedule this year! No LSU or Bama.

True. It's always the OL and when is it going to be fixed? Same concern ever year. I expect the defense to be even better than last year.
