Missouri's Baseball Stadium...

I thought you all might be interested in reading about Missouri's baseball stadium. It only seats a little 3,000. They have upgraded a lot of the facilities.
Here is the link:

That article really makes it sound like its a top of the line facility. Then you look at it and say, WTF?!, you build this for hosting a future regional? Mizzouri really doesn't have any idea what they were getting into by joining the SEC. Hope the extra money can get them on par with the rest of the gang.

Tix are $3 for youth and seniors and $5 for adults. Season tix are $30 and $60, respectively. They really make bank off the gate.

Seats about the same as Georgia and Kentucky . You could certainly host a regional there .

Re: Missouri's Baseball Stadium...

3,031 is the total capacity. They only have seats for 2,200 and that is mainly GA bleachers.

I like Carolina Stadium. It's nice.

That would require them to finish in or near the top 16. They don't have to worry about that anytime soon.

Winthrop's stadium is nicer than that...heck they spent over a million on the stupid sun blocking wall in center field... (still don't get that thing).

Yeah, I have seen nicer fields @ lower levels of baseball.

I think Francis Marion has a better stadium than they do.

I checked out Mizzou's schedule. They have us, LSU, and Arky at home this year. Their eyes will pop when they get to see Carolina Stadium, Alex Box, and Baum next year. Those are the jewels of SEC stadiums IMO.

The facade of TAMU's stadium is beautiful too. They've got ice cream money to thank for that.

that is quite a bit of naming rights for a dud field..you would think the place would look like a mini busch stadium for that amount of syllables.

Me too. It is small with seats for 800 and total capacity of about 1700, but what they have is top quality. Can't say I enjoyed the outcome of our game in their park, but it was nice getting to see Walker hit the first HR there.

You're probably right about that . But if they did, I think they would be absolutely delighted with a crowd of 2500 to 3000 for a regional in Missouri . That's about what NC State had when they hosted last year .
Now they may have to improve some things to compete in the SEC . But player amenities will probably be more important than seating capacity .

Anyone want to explain this? In the link CL posted, it says:

Finally, Taylor Stadium was designed to be able to host an NCAA Regional, which the Tigers did last year in the first NCAA postseason action at MU since 1965. Extra seating was added for last year’s Regional, allowing for crowds that exceeded 3,000.

Last year, Mizzou was the 4th seed at the regional hosted by Arizona. I checked the bracket and there was not a regional hosted there. In 2009, they played in Ole Miss' regional. They missed in 2011 and 2010. I can't find where their field was used by another school. What am I missing?

Only time I see them hosting was in 2007 . I imagine that was written back in 2008 .

Wow. I didn't go back that far. They lost that one to Louisville. They really need to update their site. Points to you for answering my question!
