TN has the #6 class in the country right now.

We just landed the #10 player in the country according to 247 and #15 in country according to Rivals.

These kids are loving what Butch is selling, I am very impressed!

They have all said also that they would have never came to TN if Dooley was still coach.

Go VOLS!

I must say that we were Tennessee's door mat for a long time. And I myself recognize the program to be a sleeping giant, every bit the threat that Dawgs or Gators are. I'm sure it'll take Butch a few years to get Vol Nation back on track, and I would be shocked if Tennessee continued to founder.
It use to be that we couldn't beat them by hook nor crook, and have enjoyed our recent success, so I'll just keep quiet........................

I view this the exact opposite of you...

UT used to beat their chest and make fun of us "chickens"... now karma has come back with a vengence.. I do not see a "sleeping giant", as Vandy even has a better program than them.. they used to rely on nabbing OOS talent, and now that talent is staying home (aka USC etc)... If they were in a talent rich state I would agree (TAMU comes to mind), but they have to play major catch up to even get to 4th place in the East... I love how karma has bit them hard

Tennessee has no problems recruiting with his history, what held them back was coaching. Kiffin and Dooley couldn't coach a pee-wee team, Jones can coach. They won't be anything worth writing home about the next two years, but that third year you could see Tenn, be Tenn.

See above why not.. it'll take 5+ to be anything close to "Tenn", year 3 they will still be fighting to take control of their own state vs Vandy (who has a better coach)

Just because he succeeded at Central Michigan doesn't mean he can coach in the SEC

I'm not sold on his short stint at Cincy.

Tenn is still a better program than Vandy, Tenn was horrible the past three years and Vandy has just beat them once.

Vandy may have fielded a better team the last few years, but Vandy's "program" is not even in the same stratosphere as UT's "program". We're talking programs right?

It wasn't that long ago that we were UT's whipping boy, so speaking condescendingly to their fans and bragging about how we are "one of the big boys in the SEC" makes you look like an ignorant @$$hole. We've never even won the conference one single time.

It's not a matter of if, but when, UT becomes competitive in the conference again. The infrastructure is in place, all that they have been lacking is the right administration and staff. Whether or not Butch Jones will bring them back, I do not know.

Anyone with common, rational sense can recognize this. Some of us are obviously blinded by a combination of hate and garnet glasses.

No one believes that Tenn football will stay this bad....

but when they prove it on the field I will be impressed. Tenn has woefully under performed, considering talent (stars) and true talent for a long time; even when Fulmer was there. It is easy to recruit to Tenn. They have great facilities, rabid fan base and alot of tradition. The biggest problem is that Tenn has started to rely on that "legacy" rather than reality. Bad management and bad coaching has gotten Tenn surplanted by alot of teams in the SEC...

and I know that the sight of Alabame hoisting the crystal has got to sting.

Again, no one here thinks that Tenn will stay down forever and yes, Tenn has a new Coach, but let's let them play first....i.e. Bryce Brown
