**MLB Season Thread: 2013**
 

Since I assume the Atlanta Braves thread is for ATL fans only, I thought we were due for a general MLB season thread.

Growing up, I never felt attached to a team that was located 4+ hours away even though they were on TV daily...but so were the Cubs and White Sox. Being down here going on 3 years, I have finally been able to adopt the Rays and feel like a fan. Purchased season tickets this year, too. Before last season, I was having a tough time getting back into MLB.

Opening Day is in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to attend a single ST game yet since most start at 1pm. The last ST game for the Rays is at the Trop, and I will be attending that...getting pumped!

So what other MLB fans do we have?

I've always been a Red Sox fan, not really expecting much this year. The pitching is going to be terrible again

Of course I'm a Braves fan, but I lived in CT. for 5 years and went to lots of Red Sox games. Man I love the City of Boston.

Cubs fan here. Here's to another season of hopes that will crash and burn by June.

We get the Nationals games here in Raleigh so I've been following them too.

LA's Kershaw pitches 8 shutout innings in a scoreless game and decides to do it ALL by himself...goes yard in the deepest part of the field!

Brice Harper and Stephen Strasburg basically single handedly win the Nats home opener. Two first picks of the draft living up to the hype.

Giants just blew all of Matt Cain's work in the first 6 innings of this game. Kershaw crushes a ball to straight CF, and now Dodgers just driving run after run. 4-0 with 2 outs now. with this long of an 8th, does Kershaw finish?

I would think so. He's only at 85 pitches.

I figured the same, but that 8th inning took a while. But Kershaw's back out and he looks just fine. Closer up in the pen, but I think he'll stay put.

Astros moved to AL West this year. 15 teams in both AL & NL now. Interleague matches all season long.

im excited about my nationals this season. im deff gonna drive up to DC for a few games here soon. I wonder how good Dan Haren is going to be... im sure that him being our fourth best pitcher he will probably have pretty favorable matchups
