I, too, think it's merely a discussion thread (although Hog's in Smack should really be moved here LOL). I wouldn't discount their conference, nor overall record. This will be a tough weekend. I am glad that it's at home (provided it doesn't rain).

Jr. RHP Barrett Astin will be starting for us on Friday (1-1, 1.90 ERA, 13 K's to 4 BBs). He's usually a bullpen guy but we're still figuring out a starting rotation despite our pretty deep pen.

RHP Ryne Stanek (1-1, 3.32, 20 Ks to 13 BBs) will start on Saturday and LHP Randall Fant (1-0, 1.12, 13 Ks to 0 BBs) on Sunday

I'd look for a completely new infield as well after we had 5 errors in the extra inning loss against ole miss last sunday

Your starter Ryan Stanek is the real deal. Hopefully this year The Hogs aren't wearing their rally 'staches.

I remember how good Stanek and Fant were last year. This hogs team gave us a lot of trouble in that Nebraska City last year

He started on Sunday last weekend. He had been struggling a bit with his control, which is why his ERA is higher than expected. He played better sunday but the defense let him down. He's more of a warm weather pitcher so maybe he'll get back to normal later in the year

Friday is CSS...i'm not sure yet if TWC is going to carry it...i'm doubting it. BUT Saturday's game is on Fox Sports...which most people get I believe...AND again...there is a 60% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday...just stay tuned

It says that Montgomery is the start throwing here soon, MRI said its healed. Also he is going to have to pitch ID way back into the rotation. Tanner is day to day Saiko could play Saturday or Sunday and Christian took swings and may get into a game this weekend but isn't gonna start

107.5 the Game was saying that Gumby was going to rest until the Tennessee series the first weekend in April. Has that changed?

He'll begin a throwing program on Monday to slowly work his way back. Won't see any game action until UT series is the plan.

TWC won't have it I don't believe, but will have it on ESPN3.......

I am really looking forward to this weekend series, we should really know what we have after this weekend.

Arky and Carolina play similar styles, and rely on great pitching, good fielding, and timely hitting....... I think the two teams are pretty even.

Hitting I would give the edge to Carolina
Fielding edge Carolina
Pitching edge to Arky, mainly because Monty is out

But one thing we have that may put us over the top this weekend is our home field advantage! Our team really needs to lean on the Home Field advantage this weekend!

I really believe the game Friday eve will set the tempo for this team. We all know that Beal has Friday stuff..... hopefully Evan will bring his A game Friday! One thing is for sure, we get down 1 game to zero to Arky, its going to be tough!!!

I just have the feeling that this team thrives on, and lives for big games...... I know we use the "one game at a time" mantra..... but I believe our team has been looking forward to this one!!!

It will be exciting, and I hope the weather holds out Saturday, as the Family is traveling up from the Beach for the 1st time this year!!! As fate would have it, March 23rd last year, it was 83f and Sunny at Carolina Stadium. Won't be so nice this Saturday!!!

Really looking forward to this series!!!
