AXE banned in school because of OD/contamination

So apparently AXE body spray is more than just an annoyance. One kid was sent to the hospital because of "exposure". That's intense

An eastern Pennsylvania high school wants its students to cut back on the body spray.

Freedom High School in Bethlehem says one of its students was recently hospitalized for exposure to Axe Body Spray. Now, officials are asking students to stop using it as a cologne or fragrance while attending the school.

In a statement posted on the school website Tuesday, officials say the affected student is severely allergic to the spray and recently had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance after being exposed to it.

In all honesty, I can't even go in some of the stores in the mall because they are pumping that shit through the vents and it makes my friggin eyes water.

About 6 weeks ago we had to get with a new employee who was putting it on a little too heavy.

That stuff wreaks of dirty gym socks. Had a kid that used to spray that crap in my room.

I quit using all forms of cologne, even high end stuff a few decades ago when I became aware that some of my patients had multiple chemical sensitivity. It was an emerging issue at that time. At least today you can order magazines sans the perfume inserts.

We were instructed in PT school not to wear colognes or fragrances to avoid causing allergic reactions to our patients.

yeah, I quit wearing colognes shortly after HS, when I figured out there were very few I could wear that didnt give me a mild headache after smelling them for a few hours

Agreed. I have no idea why people wear that stuff.

We put a rule in our office about 20 years ago....no perfume, cologne, etc. could be worn at any time in the office (men or women)....it's just too offensive to too many people.

I spray axe body spray in a cross pattern across my chest every day and have never had anyone say anything negative in like 6 years.

many people are too "polite" to say anything, or like in my case, other than wearing it myself, it doesnt bother me

Mine's never bothered anybody and I get told I smell good a lot, lol, but I don't overdo it by any means.

I'm not that worried about it. Two squirts of body spray under a suit, no way that's bothering anybody.

prob not, I work with a couple of guys that smell like they bathe in some sort of body spray/cologne when they come in in the morning, like most everything else, moderation is the key

Moderation is OK if it is not taken to extremes.

Damn teenagers bathe in the crap.

When I use body spray (not axe, haven't used it since I was 16), I normally just spray some into the air and walk through it. I find that gives you a little bit of the scent all over, without people being able to smell it when you're 3 feet away.

A true friend will tell you when you're stinking up the place without fearing that you will be offended.

If by moderation you mean not using that stank, then I agree

Re: AXE banned in school because of OD/contamination

AXE is not nearly as strong or long lasting as cologne. It's more like a spray deodorant. The kid that was hospitalized either has a crappy immune system or just wants some attention.

Re: AXE banned in school because of OD/contamination

You should walk in to a high school locker room after a practice or game. Instead of taking showers they just bathe in the spray to hide the funk. I am not allergic to the stuff and it still chokes me up and is way too strong.
