Wake Forest should hire one of these guys:

1) Ken Niumatalolo
2) Lincoln Riley
3) Steve Spurrier, Jr. or Lorenzo Ward

Coach O also resigned today at Southern Cal. He would be a great hire

Amazing fact: Since he was hired in 2001, only Florida State and Virginia Tech have won more ACC titles than Wake Forest. Clemson, Maryland and GT (wiped out tho) have won the same number.

Because if you can't win in the ACC, you really suck as a coach.

Looks like the Ball State coach is the front runner from what I have seen so far on Twitter.

Pete Lembo, coached at Elon from 06-10, so knows the area. Also coached at Lehigh, so Pa recruiting connections. Good coach, kind of a dick.

Don't know if this as a joke but wake has higher morals than to hire that guy.

Chad will want a bigger job. He is currently the highest paid assistant coach in the country. He will get a decent job or stay and collect his check.

Coach O would be a great O Line coach

Re: BREAKING: Jim Grobe resigns at Wake Forest

Grobe is a great guy, but this is LONG overdue. I went with a buddy to the Clemson/Wake game last year and it was so obvious they needed a change. No energy, facilities lacking, no recruiting, and just not good football. They need a guy like James Franklin to come in and get the interest of the fanbase back. And when I say that Shawn Elliot and Ward come to mind, although I think it would be a slim chance they would leave.

I think Coach Elliott would jump on that job in a heartbeat. He'd be perfect for it, IMO. But I think Lorenzo and Bubba provide a little more "wow" factor.

Re: BREAKING: Jim Grobe resigns at Wake Forest

Wake capped off its fifth straight losing season last weekend with a 23-21 defeat at Vanderbilt. Wake Forest ended the season 4-8, including five losses in a row.

Grobe was 77-82 in 13 seasons with the Demon Deacons, including 4-8 this year and 2-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He shares the program record for coaching victories with D.C. "Peahead" Walker.

Wake Forest finished 113th or worse nationally in four of the five main offensive stat categories.

So I guess the AD was just trying to be nice or is very uninformed.
"Jim Grobe's tenure at Wake Forest will go down as the greatest run of football success in school history," athletic director Ron Wellman said in a statement. "Jim and his staff have lifted our program to great heights."

Re: BREAKING: Jim Grobe resigns at Wake Forest

Think Wake could be a job that the Coastal coach would be a fit for. They have nothing to lose by hiring him. Plus he would bring some intrigue to a pretty stagnant program, plus he would probably be a cheap hire and also put some of his own money into facility improvements.
