Offensive dimensions for 2014
I've read a few comments that suggest we may be more one dimensional next year bc we are loosing a great running quarterback in Shaw. Isn't it possible that a taller qb will be able to survey the field better and take advantage of the 10-15 yard routes to keep the defense honest? This year we played mostly short ball and long ball. Intermediate passes require more arm strength and have a greater degree of difficulty. I feel our offense could be very similar to the one Georgia ran this year if Mitch catches fire. Also velocity should be improved with all three candidates. Anyway, I could see this as a benefit to the running game, not a detriment. Thoughts?

Re: Offensive dimensions for 2014
The only real question is at QB, and yes without Shaw it won't be the same Zone Read offense. Maybe just in the sense of the QB will not be able to take off and fly on 3rd downs for us as much. I believe that if either Thompson/Mitch gets the start we are going to revert to a style much like Alabama. Balanced, pure passer/power run type offense.

Or in other words, Spurrier's old Florida offense.

I wish I knew the stat for the number of 3rd downs Shaw converted with his feet. He was INCREDIBLE at that, and I believe that will be sorely missed in the future.

So with that being said...Does Spurrier still want to recruit Pocket QB's?
