Spurrier and Shaw

Here's a little something I found about Spurrier asking Why Shaw wasn't in the Heisman race!

:woo::woo::woo: The announcers during the game said SOS mentioned it several times before the clemson game in interviews . Let's get Connor to NY!:wink::wink:

He don't have the flashy stats to be a Heisman candidate but he is one of the best qbs in the country and has more heart and desire to win than any I have ever saw and yes... The best qb to ever wear garnet and black

Sadly, he'll be fortunate just to be named 3rd team all-conference.

You might be right. His stats are gaudy enough.

I agree. Shaw should be in the mix and is the best QB that our Gamecocks have ever had.

Re: Spurrier and Shaw

I think SOS is being so vocal because he doesn't like the direction the award has taken perhaps. When he looks at Connor Shaw, he sees the best college football player in America. I wouldn't dare counter his argument.

But, that's no longer what the award is given for. The Heisman awards the most valuable player from a high profile team (I know A&M isn't really that high of a profile...but they got a huge boost from last year's Bama win), who received tons of media attention. Shaw doesn't fit that bill.

Is he our most valuable player? Absolutely. But, his stats are less than eye popping...he's a good kid with no "what will Johnny Football do next" stories. He's one of the good guys. A warrior, a team player, someone who lifts everyone around him to another level. Those guys, the good guys...they get overlooked. Unfortunate, but true.

Connor Shaw is the man but his 7-21-1 for 161 performance against ut all but killed his Heisman chances and unfortunately in hind sight our SEC and National title chances. He still rushed for 96yds in that game and by no means does that one game overshadow the spectacular season he had in my eyes nor does it overshadow that without him we are not in any position to play for the SEC or in the National spotlight. He is one of the most gutsy and heart filled player I have ever watched on the football field, you can tell he is a coaches son and a born leader, he will leave some huge shoes to be filled next year. He deserves every accolade that is thrown his way!

Winston probably should win but can you imagine what hell would break loose if he does and then is prosecuted for rape later on? Not really a lot of cream on top this year.

Decision as early as tomorrow. Hope justice is served, what ever it needs to be.

Tajh took a big tumble post FSU and USC. He does not play well against teams with a defense.
